Video Library about "GLOBALIZATION"
In order to enrich the content of my library, I deliberately chose vidoes that address many tastes and talk about globalization from different points of views. Here are my vidoes, hope you like them:

1. You have to watch THIS!
"14 months in the making, 42 countries, and a cast of thousands." Watch Matt dance with people from all across the globe. This "global dance" show speople of different nationalities and cultures getting alongside each other.
As a start I chose this "global dance" to show that the world is ONE unit. It's not "who you are", but rather "what you do".
2. Defining "Globalization" from students point of views: In this video students define the term "globalization". I chose this video because if I want to make my students acquainted with the term "globalization" and  also raise their interest,  I should present them an example  of an age group that speaks their language!
3. Defining globalization from an "intellectual" sophisticated point of view:
In an interview with Nayan Chanda, editor of YaleGlobal Online, Friedman, the author of The Lexus and the Olive Tree, says countries may join globalization at a speed they deem best suited to their interests.
I find this interview very much  related to my thematic unit, because it wil help my students understand how the world has changed, and how this change affected globalization as a phenomenon. I chose Friedman , because he  is one of the most influential political writers in our world today.
4. 21st Century Learning - "Ramifications of Globalization":
This video demonstrates the bright side of globalization.. "Is globalization good or devil?" this was on of the essential questiones included in my thematic unit. With this video I want to show my students that globalization has a bright side from which the whole wolrd can benefit.
5. Negative about Globalization - "Ramifications of Globalization":
This video shows that lots of people are taking advantage of global trend, whereas other are out of favour.
I chose this video because it demonstrates the "devil" side of globalization., which is one of the questions included in my thematic unit.
6. Second World:
In this interview Parag Khanna, author of "The Second World, Empires and Influences in the New Global Order" speaks about the rising of "Second World" which because of globalization has greater opportunity for self definition internally and influence externally.
I chose this interview for my video library because it presents a new thought: There will be  winners in the globalization game other than the United States, EU and China. These are the winners of the Second World. This is a new term for me.
7. Did you know?
This video demonstrates the importance of figures in the "global" word, figures are a great tool of disclosure .
I found this video very useful to my students because it contatins very important figures that everyone should be aware of. One of the most important figures is the size of a country. A country can achieve best results because of its size, like China and India. In Egypt, the governments keeps telling us that the bad economy we have in Egypt is a result of our population size. The  video proves the contrary! This is one of the reasons why our governments hate figures!
8. Our Future:
The video is about what skills and what kind of education our kids need to be well prepared for the FUTURE.
After disclosing important figures to know where one really stands, another video should follow to show us the way. That's why I chose this one!
9. A response of "Just 1 Girl":
"Just 1 Girl" was written by 11-year-old Maura about her perspective on the challenges she will face in creating change in the world as she grows up. * A thought provoking video, highlighting many issues, and making us think about how we can change things.
After watching "did you know" and "our future", I find this video very useful because it will provoke the students to think about how they can contribute to the world of tomorrow, the world of GLOBALIZATION. Knowing the challenges of tomorrow makes them start planing from today.
10. Where we stand!
This video contains astonishing facts about the education in the United States.
I find this video important because it will correct misconceptions about some facts in our global world of today. It is important for our students here in Egypt to know how far behind we are with our education system, and how long the distance we have to walk.
